Club Awards and Series

Tri-Sport Taupō Participation Award

This award is based on the weeknight Tri-Sport Taupō races.  To qualify, you must complete a set number of races as a team or individual with at least one duathlon, aquathlon and triathlon as an individual plus one event as a volunteer. This can include volunteering at the Kinloch, or Ironman events.  If volunteering fill out the “Volunteer” space on the club night entry form.  You must also be a club member to qualify for the award.  All qualifiers will go into a random draw at prize giving for three sponsors’ prizes to the total value of up to $2000!  You must be present at the prize giving to claim a prize.

Club Championships

Club Championships for Duathlon and Triathlon titles are based on the age schedule and your age on race day. Athletes aged 13 years and over may compete in a shorter course than indicated, but will not qualify for a club placing.

Athletes aged 12 years and under may compete in a longer course than indicated but will not qualify for an award.

Club placings for athletes aged 20 and over are awarded in 10-year age groups up to 70+.

The overall Club Triathlon Championship titles are awarded to the first male and first female to finish the long course.

To be eligible for a club title, you must be a current club member and have competed in at least two club events during the current season prior to the championships.

Club Champs Race Distances

Typical Triathlon Short Course

12 and under: 200m swim / 8.8 km bike / 1.25 run

Typical Triathlon Long Course

13 and above: 600m swim / 17.5km bike / 3.75km run

Typical Duathlon Short Course

12 and under: 1.0km run / 6.6km bike / 1.0km run

Typical Duathlon Long Course

13 and above:  2.0km run/ 10.0km bike / 2.0km run
