FAQ'S
Registration will take place at Kinloch Community Hall
If you are wearing a wetsuit, you MUST bring it to be checked before registration. You will not be able to register if you do not have proof of your wetsuit being checked
As an event we are encouraging recycling and ask you to bring your own swim cap. If you do not have a swim cap, one will be supplied.
Bike racking on Sunday only.

NOTE:
- Briefings 15min before race start
- Attendance is compulsory and held at swim start
- All races will have wave starts, males first
- If you are entering on the day please be early.
- Get to the Transition area early.
- Don’t forget your transponder & don’t lose it or it will cost you $50.
- Please don’t park any where on the race course.
- You MUST attend the race briefing on race day
- Please wear covered shoes at all times during the race.
- Please wear a helmet at all times during the bike section of the race.
- Please have your upper torso covered at all times during the race (except in the swim if you don’t wear a wetsuit).
- Turn up to race hard & have FUN
- Grab a coffee& lunch from the wonderful Kinloch Cafe
- The standard and sprint swim is a triangle held off the main Kinloch beach. The try-a-tri and splash and dash are held parallel to the beach in a line (shallow water)
- There will be members of SLSNZ on the beach & in the water.
- We are encouraging recycling and ask you to bring your own swim cap. If you do not have a swim cap, one will be supplied.
- No fins, snorkels, paddles or flotation devices are permitted. You may wear a wet-suit.
- There will be compulsory wetsuit dipping before registrationSaturday and Sunday. (Wetsuits are thoroughly submerged in water containing 5% dishwashing detergent. Dishwashing detergent is all it takes to kill Didymo cells, or other freshwater plant pests that are of concern, such as Hornwort and Lagarosiphon.)

- This can be any kind of pedal powered bike. No E-bikes. Please ensure the bike fits YOU.
- Road bikes would be preferred. If you ride a Time-trial bike you be careful when riding on aerobars and cornering.
- No bunch riding or drafting.
- NOTE: DRAFTING IS ALLOWED IN THE SPRINT RACE ONLY
- You can have aero bars
- We expect people to ride to their abilities and not use the aerobars in a bunch/drafting situation during the sprint race
- Helmets must be worn at all times. Please ensure this fits correctly. Helmet must be on before un-racking your bike & remain on till bike is racked after the bike leg.
- We do NOT have road closure for the event, please be aware that residents & businesses can still access the roads. We have marshals on all main corners.
- Please ride as close to the left-hand side of the road as practical & pass on the right
- Please remain alert through-out the entire ride as there maybe faster cyclists behind you that need to pass.
- There must be no form of listening/music devices on the course.
- Please wear shoes the entire time
- This is a run/walk leg. Please no skates, skateboards, scooters or any other device.
- Some of the run course is alongside the bike course so please run as close to the kerb as possible.
- There are also parts of the course that are 2-way for runners. Please be aware of your surroundings and follow the instructions on the marked course, and follow the marshall’s instructions at all times
- Please no strollers/buggies on course.
- There is to be no MP3, I-Pods, phones, bluetooth headphones or any other listening devices on course.

Online entries will close on Friday 09th February 2024 at midnight.
Late Fees
- After 16th Jan 2024 + $10:00
- After 4th Feb 2024 + $20.00
Late entries will be taken on Saturday 11th Feb at the registration. You will need to have a mygameday.app account preconfigured.
If you need to withdraw from the race prior to race-day due to an injury a refund may be issued, less booking and admin fees. Please contact event organisers
There will be plenty of fantastic spot prizes at the event. Prize-giving will be held approx 30 minutes after the last athlete has crossed the finish line, adjacent to the transition area. Numbers will be picked at random. You MUST be present to receive your prize.
Triathlon NZ will be awarding medals for the National Championships events.
